Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, November 2025 — Religare Enterprises Limited has appointed Indranil Choudhury as the Group Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). With over 26 years of extensive HR leadership experience across financial services and retail sectors, he will lead the organisation’s people strategy, culture, leadership development, and group-wide HR transformation efforts. Reporting to the REL Board, Indranil will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s future-focused talent, culture, and ESG agenda.
An alumnus of NIILM, New Delhi, with a PGDBA in Human Resources, and a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, he brings both strategic depth and strong operational understanding to his new mandate.
Indranil most recently served at UTI Asset Management Company Ltd., where he was Group Head – Human Resources & ESG, leading people strategy, organisational transformation, and ESG initiatives across the group. His role focused on strengthening governance, aligning subsidiaries, and building a future-ready workforce through structured people processes and leadership capability building.
Before this, he served as President and Head – Human Resources at UTI AMC, working closely with senior leadership and the NRC to build policy frameworks, talent systems, HR processes, and transformation-led initiatives. He was instrumental in strengthening the talent pipeline, improving employee engagement, and driving organisational readiness for future growth.
Earlier in his career, Indranil spent nearly fourteen years at HDFC Life, where he held multiple senior leadership positions including Senior Vice President – Human Resources, Vice President & Business HR Head, and Vice President – HR. Across these roles, he drove people strategy, compensation, benefits, HR operations, technology, employee engagement, CSR, talent acquisition, and large-scale transformation programmes for a workforce of over 15,000 employees.
Indranil began his career in the retail sector with Shoppers Stop, where he spent over six years in HR operations and business partnering roles, followed by his early stint at Datamatics as Officer – HR. These foundational experiences helped shape his approach to stakeholder management, HR processes, and organisational development.
