Washington, District of Columbia, United States, July 2026 — PwC has appointed Wes Bricker as Global Vice Chair and Global Chief Risk and Regulatory Officer, entrusting one of the profession’s most respected accounting and regulatory leaders with overseeing the firm’s global risk, regulatory, and trust agenda.
In his new role, Wes will lead PwC’s global risk and regulatory function, strengthening the firm’s resilience, quality, governance, and ability to navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape. He succeeds Scott Berryman, while continuing PwC’s commitment to advancing trust, quality, and the public interest across its global network.
Prior to this appointment, Wes served as Global Assurance Leader at PwC, where he led more than 130,000 assurance professionals serving clients across 136 territories while working with over 60 audit regulators worldwide. During his tenure, he spearheaded major investments in audit quality, innovation, and AI-enabled assurance, including the global rollout of PwC Maestro, the firm’s AI-first audit platform designed to transform audit delivery through greater quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Earlier, he served as Vice Chair – US Trust Solutions Co-Leader and Vice Chair – Assurance Leader, leading PwC’s U.S. assurance business and helping shape the firm’s strategy across audit, assurance, trust, quality, and professional standards.
Beyond his executive responsibilities at PwC, Wes has held several influential governance and professional leadership positions. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and previously served as Chair of XBRL International, the global consortium responsible for the international standard for digital business reporting. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and as a Governing Council Member of the AICPA.
Before rejoining PwC, Wes served as Chief Accountant of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where he was the Commission’s principal advisor on accounting and auditing matters. In that role, he oversaw the Office of the Chief Accountant, advised the Commission on financial reporting and auditing policy, worked closely with domestic and international accounting standard setters, and played a central role in the SEC’s oversight of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).
Earlier, he also served as Chair of the Monitoring Group, representing the interests of global financial regulators in strengthening international audit standard setting and audit quality, following his appointment by IOSCO.
His earlier career included leadership roles at PwC as Partner and Senior Manager, as well as serving as a Professional Accounting Fellow at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he specialized in accounting standards affecting financial institutions, derivatives, business combinations, leasing, and complex financial reporting matters.
Wes began his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, building deep expertise across financial services, accounting policy, regulatory affairs, audit quality, and professional practice over more than two decades.
With extensive leadership experience spanning public policy, financial regulation, audit quality, governance, accounting standards, and global professional services, Wes Bricker is exceptionally well positioned to lead PwC’s global risk and regulatory agenda during a period of rapid technological, regulatory, and geopolitical change.
