In her new role, Dr. Godiyal will lead the organization’s behavioural training strategy, designing and delivering learning interventions that strengthen leadership effectiveness, employee capability, customer excellence, and organizational culture across the company.

Prior to joining Poonawalla Fincorp, Dr. Godiyal served at CSB Bank Limited, where she most recently held the position of Vertical Head – Learning & Development and PoSH Presiding Officer. She spearheaded learning initiatives for regulatory and non-retail business verticals, designed emerging talent and succession planning strategies, ensured compliance with regulatory training requirements, and served as the Presiding Officer of the Internal Committee under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) framework. She also led Retail Branch Banking training across North, East, and West India, empowering frontline teams to enhance customer experience, operational excellence, and business performance.

Earlier at CSB Bank, she served as Head – Retail Branch Banking Learning & Development (North & East India), where she drove capacity-building initiatives aligned with RBI guidelines while strengthening leadership development and external learning partnerships.

Before CSB Bank, Dr. Godiyal played a pivotal role at HDFC Securities as Lead – Digital Banking (Northern India), where she established and scaled the Digital Banking Unit across Northern India, led a team of 70 Virtual Relationship Managers, managed relationships for more than 30,000 customers, and helped the region achieve one of the highest revenue performances nationally. Her leadership earned her recognition as the organization’s Best Leader.

She also founded MaGpie (MG), a learning and consulting venture focused on banking, financial services, behavioural capability, leadership development, coaching, and soft skills training. Through the venture, she partnered with organizations including HDFC Bank, JIMS, and TimesPro, delivering customized learning solutions aligned with business objectives.

Earlier, Dr. Godiyal spent over two years as Senior Training Manager at HDFC Bank, where she trained more than 1,100 employees across 160 branches in Delhi and Haryana. Consistently ranked among the bank’s top training managers nationwide, she designed and delivered learning programs covering banking products, compliance, operations, leadership, risk management, and retail banking capability.

Her career also includes leadership roles with Janalakshmi Financial Services as Zonal Training Head, independent consulting assignments delivering banking and finance training, and a distinguished seven-year tenure at HDFC Bank leading audit, compliance, vigilance, grievance redressal, service quality, and internal controls. Earlier, she worked with Bank of Punjab as Relationship Manager – Home Loans and began her professional journey as Audit Executive with Haribhakti & Co., conducting audits for organizations including the U.S. Embassy and HDFC Bank.

Dr. Godiyal holds a Diploma in Training from the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) specializing in Human Resources from Symbiosis International University, providing a strong academic foundation for her expertise in learning, leadership development, organizational capability, and people transformation.

With more than two decades of experience spanning learning and development, behavioural training, leadership development, compliance, audit, banking operations, digital banking, talent development, and organizational capability building, Dr. Mamta Godiyal is exceptionally well positioned to lead Poonawalla Fincorp’s behavioural learning agenda as the company continues investing in people excellence and customer-centric growth.
