London Area, United Kingdom, August 2025 – Ruth Batley has taken on a new role as Head of Talent Acquisition at Marie Curie UK, a leading end-of-life charity in the United Kingdom. In her new position, Ruth will be driving the organisation’s recruitment strategy across a hybrid workforce, ensuring Marie Curie continues to attract the right talent to support its critical mission of delivering compassionate end-of-life care and support.
Prior to joining Marie Curie UK, Ruth Batley served as Interim Recruitment Manager at Slough Borough Council for approximately three months, where she provided strategic oversight to local government hiring efforts, navigating public sector challenges in sourcing and recruitment planning.

During her tenure, Ruth held dual roles — initially as Head of Recruitment, UK & Tech Europe, where she led talent acquisition across diverse geographies and tech verticals, and later as Social Value & People Projects Lead, driving purpose-aligned people initiatives and community impact programs.
Ruth previously spent over two years at Amazon, where she held the role of Talent Acquisition Manager for Stores TA, managing volume and strategic hiring across key business areas. Her experience here strengthened her global TA expertise and sharpened her ability to scale processes in high-growth environments.
Earlier, Ruth had a significant five-and-a-half-year tenure at the BBC, where she held leadership positions including Head of Resourcing & Talent for News & Current Affairs, and Resourcing Business Partner in the Central team. These roles honed her strategic and operational skills in high-profile, fast-paced media environments.
Prior to her BBC experience, Ruth spent over seven years at NEO:search Partners, and held earlier TA roles at The Walt Disney Company, Bird & Co, and GKR Search and Selection, accumulating a career spanning over two decades in recruitment and talent leadership across media, public sector, e-commerce, and global entertainment.
