Australia, July 2026 — Sequoia has appointed Ruth Reese as Global Consulting Director, strengthening its leadership team as it continues to help investor-backed companies optimize their global people strategies. In her new role, Ruth will lead global consulting initiatives, partnering with organizations to enhance total rewards, employee benefits, and people investment strategies that drive business performance and elevate the employee experience.
Prior to joining Sequoia, Ruth served as Account Director at Steadfast Life, where she partnered with leading Australian employers to design and implement employee benefits strategies that improved engagement, retention, and return on investment. Working closely with HR leaders, she leveraged data-driven insights to create tailored benefits programs that delivered measurable business outcomes while enhancing employee experience.
Earlier, Ruth spent seven years with Sequoia Consulting Group, where she held progressively senior client leadership roles including Client Services Consultant, Senior Client Service Manager, and Client Services Manager. During her tenure, she worked closely with high-growth and venture-backed technology companies to develop comprehensive total rewards and employee benefits programs aligned with business objectives. She also played a key role in shaping scalable client service strategies, mentoring high-performing teams, supporting product innovation, and delivering best-in-class employee benefits solutions for several technology unicorns.
Before transitioning into strategic consulting, Ruth built a strong human resources foundation through roles at iD Tech, where she served as People Services Specialist, leading recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and leadership coaching initiatives. Earlier, she worked with Queensland Health as Supervisor – HR Training and Human Resource Facilitator, supporting workforce development and leadership capability. She began her HR career as a Human Resource Generalist at Cook Medical, followed by internship roles with Syzygy People and Virgin Australia, gaining valuable experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, and people operations.
With more than 15 years of experience spanning global consulting, employee benefits, total rewards, human resources, talent management, and client services, Ruth has established a strong reputation for helping organizations build people-first strategies that support sustainable growth.
