Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, March 2025 – Sameer Al Maskari has joined Astra Tech as Chief Human Resources Officer, where he will lead the company’s HR strategy, workforce transformation, and people-centric initiatives. With Astra Tech’s rapid expansion and innovation in the fintech, e-commerce, AI, and communication sectors, Al Maskari’s leadership will play a crucial role in shaping a strong, agile, and future-ready workforce.
Al Maskari joins Astra Tech from Wio Bank, where he served as Head of HR Business Partner & Culture, driving strategic people initiatives and fostering a high-performance culture. Before that, he spent more than four years at Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), initially as HR Business Partner before advancing to Head of Human Resources, where he led workforce development and HR transformation initiatives.
Prior to ADIO, he spent over 15 years at Emirates NBD, holding several senior HR roles, including HR Business Partner for Retail Banking, Head of Nationalization, Recruitment Manager, and Assistant Manager. During his tenure, he played a key role in talent acquisition, workforce planning, and leadership development, significantly contributing to the bank’s HR strategy and employee engagement.
Earlier in his career, Al Maskari worked as a Customer Service Representative at Emirates NBD and later transitioned into HR roles, gaining extensive experience in talent strategy, culture building, and workforce development. His deep expertise in organizational leadership, people analytics, and employee experience has positioned him as a leading HR professional in the banking and investment sectors.
