LUXEMBOURG, June 2026 — Samsonite Group S.A., the world’s leading luggage and travel lifestyle company, has appointed Sameer Suneja as an Independent Non-Executive Director on its Board of Directors. The appointment reflects Samsonite’s commitment to strengthening its board with globally experienced business leaders who bring deep expertise in consumer goods, brand building, innovation, and international business growth.
Sameer joins the Board at a pivotal time for Samsonite as the company continues to expand its global footprint, accelerate innovation, and strengthen its leadership position across travel, lifestyle, and consumer markets worldwide.
A highly respected global business leader, Sameer currently serves as Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Perfetti Van Melle Group B.V., one of the world’s largest manufacturers of confectionery and chewing gum. Since assuming the role in 2013, he has been responsible for leading the multinational organization’s global strategy, innovation agenda, market expansion, and long-term growth initiatives across multiple continents.
Prior to becoming Group CEO, Sameer served as Executive Vice President – Global Innovations and Business Development at Perfetti Van Melle Group B.V. from 2012 to 2013, where he played a key role in driving innovation-led growth and strengthening the company’s international business portfolio.
Earlier, he served as Managing Director of Perfetti Van Melle India Pvt. Ltd. from 2008 to 2012, leading one of the company’s most important growth markets. During this period, he contributed significantly to business expansion, market leadership, brand development, and operational excellence.
Between 1997 and 2007, Sameer held a series of progressive leadership roles in marketing across India and Italy within the Perfetti Van Melle organization. These assignments helped shape his deep understanding of consumer behavior, brand management, product innovation, and international market development.
Before joining Perfetti Van Melle, Sameer built his marketing foundation with two leading consumer goods organizations. He served as Brand Manager at Frito-Lay India, a wholly owned subsidiary of PepsiCo, and earlier worked as Brand Manager at Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd., gaining valuable experience in brand strategy, consumer marketing, and category management.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Sameer has established a strong reputation for driving business transformation, building iconic consumer brands, leading innovation-led growth, and managing complex multinational operations. His extensive global leadership experience and deep understanding of consumer markets are expected to bring valuable strategic insights to Samsonite’s Board as the company continues to pursue sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
Sameer holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from Hansraj College and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) from Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
