New Delhi, Delhi, India, May 2026 — Sanjay Bhargava has begun a new chapter as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Jindal India Power Ltd., taking on the top leadership role at the major thermal power generation company. In this strategic position, Sanjay will oversee business growth, operational excellence, power generation strategy, and long-term expansion initiatives as Jindal India Power strengthens its position in India’s energy sector.
Before joining Jindal India Power Ltd., Sanjay served as Chief O&M – Services at Prayagraj Power Generation Company Limited, where he was responsible for operations and maintenance leadership, strengthening plant performance and operational capabilities.
Prior to this, Sanjay spent more than six years with PPGCL – Tata Power, where he led Power Sales, Commercial, Regulatory, and Advocacy functions, playing a critical role in commercial strategy, regulatory affairs, and market-facing initiatives. His tenure there reflected strong leadership across power sector operations and strategic energy management.
Earlier, Sanjay held senior leadership roles at Tata Power, including Head – Asset Management & Business Development (Thermal) and Head – Maintenance Planning & Boiler at Maithon Power Limited, a Tata Power and DVC joint venture. Across these roles, he developed extensive expertise in thermal asset management, plant maintenance, business development, and operational leadership.
With decades of experience across power generation, thermal energy operations, maintenance, commercial strategy, and regulatory leadership, Sanjay brings deep sector expertise and executive leadership to his new role as CEO.
