Mumbai, Maharashtra, India — JSW Energy Ltd has announced the appointment of Sanjay Kumar as Senior Vice President – Solar, further strengthening its leadership team as the company accelerates the expansion of its renewable energy portfolio and advances its commitment to supporting India’s clean energy transition.
A seasoned power and renewable energy executive with more than 25 years of experience across project development, project execution, engineering, operations, and large-scale infrastructure management, Sanjay brings deep expertise in delivering complex energy projects and scaling renewable energy assets. In his new role, he will provide strategic leadership for JSW Energy’s solar business, supporting the development and execution of large-scale solar projects as the company expands its renewable energy footprint across India.
Prior to joining JSW Energy, Sanjay served as Vice President – Project Development & Execution at Sembcorp Industries Ltd, where he led the development and execution of renewable energy projects. In this role, he was responsible for driving project planning, execution excellence, stakeholder management, and operational delivery across key renewable energy initiatives.
Before Sembcorp, he spent nearly a decade with Adani Green Energy Ltd. as Assistant Vice President – Projects, where he played a critical role in the implementation and execution of renewable energy projects. His leadership contributed to the successful delivery of large-scale solar and renewable energy assets, helping support one of India’s most significant renewable energy expansion programs.
Earlier in his career, Sanjay spent more than ten years with Jindal Power Limited as General Manager – Projects, leading techno-commercial activities, engineering functions, project management initiatives, and execution efforts for major thermal power projects. During this period, he gained extensive experience managing large infrastructure developments and complex power sector projects.
He began his professional journey with Tata Power Company Limited, where he worked in power plant operations, overseeing operational activities for large-scale power generation units. This foundational experience provided him with a comprehensive understanding of power generation, plant operations, and energy infrastructure management.
Throughout his career, Sanjay has built strong expertise in renewable energy development, solar project execution, engineering management, construction leadership, project delivery, operational excellence, and strategic planning. His broad experience across both conventional and renewable energy sectors provides a valuable perspective as JSW Energy continues to diversify and expand its clean energy portfolio.
His appointment comes at a pivotal time for JSW Energy as the company accelerates investments in renewable energy and strengthens its position as one of India’s leading integrated energy companies. Sanjay’s experience in executing large-scale energy projects is expected to contribute significantly to the company’s growth ambitions and renewable energy roadmap.
