Mumbai, April 2024 — Larsen & Toubro Precision Engineering and Systems IC is delighted to announce the appointment of Santosh Rai as the new Head of Human Resources. With over two decades of experience in HR leadership across various high-profile industries, Rai brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role at one of India’s foremost engineering conglomerates.
Before joining Larsen & Toubro Precision Engineering and Systems, Santosh Rai played a pivotal role as the Joint General Manager-HR at L&T Defence IC from September 2021 to April 2024, where he was instrumental in formulating and deploying HR strategies that significantly enhanced team cohesion and operational efficiency. His leadership helped navigate the intricate HR landscapes of defence manufacturing, underscoring his proficiency in managing large-scale industrial human resources operations.
Rai’s HR journey includes significant tenure at L&T Defence Hazira Manufacturing complex as the Unit HR Head from April 2018 to August 2021, where he was responsible for setting up a world-class greenfield facility. Prior to that, he served as Plant HR Head at L&T Special Steels & Heavy Forgings PVT Ltd, a joint venture of L&T with NPCIL, from February 2010 to March 2016. Here, Rai established robust HR systems and led talent acquisition and team building that were critical to the plant’s success.
His earlier roles also include leadership positions at BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd, Goodyear India Ltd, and Samtel Color Limited, each contributing to his rich portfolio with experiences ranging from strategic HR management to operational improvements.
