Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, March 2025 – Sara Schultz has been promoted to Sr. Director, People Business Partner at UnitedHealth Group, marking a significant milestone in her career with the company. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading strategic talent initiatives that align with the business objectives across UnitedHealthcare’s Medicare & Retirement and Clinical Services functions.
Sara has been with UnitedHealth Group for over 11 years, having progressed through a series of impactful HR leadership roles. Most recently, she served as People Business Partner, where she played a critical role in driving organizational design, clinical transformation, and inclusive leadership development. Her initiatives helped optimize the workforce and enhance the talent strategy for various business functions.

Earlier, as Associate Human Capital Partner at UnitedHealthcare and Optum Operations, she spearheaded enterprise workforce planning, led the execution of cost-saving initiatives, and drove leadership capability-building across functions. Her focus on talent engagement, succession planning, and employee development made her a trusted strategic advisor.
Before that, she worked as a Human Capital Consultant, where she led alignment efforts post-acquisition, created reward programs, and conducted talent calibration with senior leadership. She was instrumental in enhancing organizational efficiency through strategic workforce planning.
Sara began her HR career at Catalyst360° – The Hartford, where she rose from HR Staffing Coordinator to Human Resources Generalist, leading various talent engagement and retention programs. Her early focus on coaching, workforce flexibility, and performance strategy laid the foundation for her long-term HR impact.
