London, England, United Kingdom, July 2025 – Satnam Sagoo has been appointed as Chief People Officer at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, bringing over two decades of experience in workforce transformation, organizational development, and public health. In her new role, she will lead people strategy and employee engagement efforts across the Trust’s two major hospitals and community services, serving over 666,000 people across the region.
Prior to this appointment, Satnam served as Chief People Officer at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust for over two years, where she played a pivotal role in shaping a progressive people culture and driving strategic workforce planning. Her efforts helped deliver improved people experience and greater integration across a newly merged healthcare system.
Before that, Satnam was the Associate Chief People Officer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where she led large-scale recruitment programs, enhanced talent development systems, and reinforced inclusive leadership practices. Her strong background in employee engagement and organizational effectiveness was instrumental during a critical phase of NHS transformation.
Over a five-year tenure at the British Red Cross, she held the role of Director of Learning and Organisation Development, leading the learning strategy for over 100,000 volunteers and 4,000 staff. She was also Chair of the Red Cross Anti-Racism Group, advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across the humanitarian organization.
Earlier, Satnam spent nearly a decade at Public Health England, holding several roles including Head of Workforce and OD, Public Health Consultant, and Operational Director – Health Protection. Her leadership was critical in shaping national-level workforce learning architectures and translating public health policy into high-impact learning solutions.
