Hyderabad, Telangana, India, March 2026 – Shantanu Panda has taken on a new role as Senior General Manager – Global Packaging Strategy at Viatris, marking a significant step forward in his leadership journey within the organization.
Shantanu has been associated with Viatris for over a decade, previously serving as General Manager – Global Packaging Strategy, where he led global packaging initiatives across regulated and emerging markets. In his expanded role, he continues to drive packaging innovation with a strong focus on patient experience, sustainability, and regulatory excellence. He has played a key role in building and leading cross-functional teams spanning R&D, commercial operations, and technology transfer, while also delivering cost optimization and strengthening compliance frameworks.
Before joining Viatris, Shantanu worked as Packaging Lead at AstraZeneca, where he supported advanced packaging systems for highly regulated markets and led change management and validation initiatives.
Earlier, he held leadership roles at Mylan Laboratories Limited, where he managed end-to-end packaging development, commercialization, and technology transfer across multiple geographies. His work focused on patient-centric and compliant packaging design aligned with both regulatory and commercial requirements.
He began his professional journey with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, contributing to packaging development and regulatory support for prescription and OTC products. He also gained early experience through training roles at Cadila Pharmaceuticals and Cipla, building a strong foundation in pharmaceutical packaging and GMP practices.
Shantanu holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging Technology from the Indian Institute of Packaging, equipping him with deep technical expertise in packaging innovation and systems design.
