Petaling, Selangor, Malaysia, June 2025 – Sharon Koh has been appointed as the Head of Human Resources at Hong Leong Assurance Berhad (HLA), Malaysia’s largest local life insurance provider. In her new role, Sharon will lead the company’s HR transformation journey, driving initiatives across talent management, learning, organizational development, and employee engagement to support HLA’s growth and strategic objectives.
Prior to this, Sharon spent over eight years at Hong Leong Bank Berhad, where she most recently served as Head, HR Business Partnering, and earlier as Head of Talent, Development & Employee Engagement. She played a key role in building future-ready leadership pipelines, enhancing employee learning strategies, and aligning HR practices with business imperatives across the bank.
Before her tenure at Hong Leong Bank, Sharon was Head of Resourcing at HSBC Malaysia and earlier served as Head of Learning and Development, contributing to leadership development frameworks and reskilling initiatives in the financial services space.
Sharon also held senior HR roles at Citi Malaysia as VP – Learning & Organizational Development, Standard Chartered (Scope International) as Head of Learning & Talent Management, and Merck, Sharp & Dohme as Head of Training. She began her professional journey with earlier roles at AIG, Citibank Bhd, Malaysia Airlines, and Electcoms, gaining deep cross-functional expertise in sales, learning, and HR.
