Singapore, September 2025 – Shekhar Banka has taken on the role of Chief Financial Officer at ZUZU Hospitality. In his new capacity, he will lead the company’s financial strategy, governance, and capital planning, playing a pivotal role in driving sustainable growth and supporting ZUZU’s mission to empower independent hotels globally.
Most recently, Banka was the Director of Corporate Development and Group M&A Head at PropertyGuru Group, where he spent nearly three years shaping growth strategies, driving inorganic expansion, and leading complex cross-border M&A initiatives to strengthen the Group’s market presence across Asia.
Before that, he served as Director of Corporate Finance at Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance in Singapore for over two years. In this role, he advised clients on capital structuring, corporate finance strategy, and execution of significant transactions across multiple industries.

Earlier, he was Senior Manager, Strategy and Business Development at HSBC Insurance (part of HSBC Group) in Hong Kong. Here, he contributed to key regional strategic initiatives and business development efforts, leveraging his expertise in financial planning and execution to support the insurance business across markets.
Banka also held a long tenure of nearly a decade at Daiwa Capital Markets Singapore Limited, where he advanced to Director of Investment Banking (M&A). He advised leading corporates on complex cross-border deals, consolidations, and equity capital markets transactions, further cementing his expertise in financial advisory and M&A. He began his career in consulting at Synechron, where he spent four years in managerial roles.
