Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, July 2025 – Shelley Wood has been appointed as Vice President of Finance, People and Community at Saint John Energy, taking on a broader leadership role after serving as the company’s Executive Director of Finance, People and Community for over three years. In her new position, Shelley will oversee financial strategy, human capital development, and community engagement initiatives aligned with Saint John Energy’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
Since joining Saint John Energy in 2022, Shelley has been a central figure in integrating people and culture with financial stewardship and community values. Her ability to lead cross-functional initiatives has been instrumental in aligning the organization’s Zero30 net-zero strategy with stakeholder priorities and employee engagement.
Prior to joining Saint John Energy, Shelley spent nearly 11 years at Mariner Partners, where she most recently served as Vice President, Talent and Organizational Development. In this role, she led leadership development, organizational design, and continuous improvement across the enterprise. Her earlier roles included Director of Continuous Improvement and Director of Process Improvement, reflecting her depth of experience in operational transformation and change leadership.
Shelley’s earlier career also included roles at JD Irving – Kent Building Supplies and Irving Forest Products, where she drove strategic process improvement efforts, marketing analytics, and organizational capability building. She also served as Publisher and Director of Advertising at Brunswick News, where she led commercial strategy and media operations.
In addition to her corporate leadership roles, Shelley has been actively engaged as a Course Instructor with both PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada and TRX Training, where she has contributed to the development of professional competencies in operations, wellness, and leadership.
Shelley holds an MBA from Ivey Business School at Western University, underscoring her strong academic foundation in business and leadership.
