United States, December 2024 – ALX Oncology, a clinical-stage immuno-oncology company, has announced the appointment of Shelly Wong-Pinto as its new Interim Chief Financial Officer. With extensive experience in finance and biotechnology, Wong-Pinto will guide the company’s financial strategy and operations during a pivotal period of growth and innovation.
Wong-Pinto has been a key part of ALX Oncology’s leadership since May 2021, serving as SVP, Finance & Chief Accounting Officer, where she played a critical role in financial planning and regulatory compliance.
Shelly Wong-Pinto brings over two decades of financial expertise to her new role, with a strong background in the biotech and healthcare sectors.
At ALX Oncology, Wong-Pinto has been instrumental in enhancing the company’s financial framework and supporting its clinical advancements. Prior to this, she spent nearly five years at Tizona Therapeutics, Inc., where she rose through roles from Controller to VP, Finance & Operations, leading finance and operational strategies for innovative immuno-oncology and autoimmune therapies.
Her career also includes an eight-year tenure at InSite Vision Inc. as Controller, where she managed corporate financial reporting and compliance. Earlier roles at Bare Escentuals, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, and Deloitte solidified her expertise in corporate accounting and audit functions, preparing her for leadership in dynamic, high-growth environments.
