Sherif Nour Appointed Country President for AstraZeneca Egypt

Cairo , Egypt, February 2026 —AstraZeneca has appointed Sherif Nour as Country President for AstraZeneca Egypt, marking a significant leadership milestone for the organization in one of its key regional markets.

In his new role, Sherif will lead AstraZeneca’s operations in Egypt, building on a strong foundation to deepen partnerships across the healthcare ecosystem and advance innovative solutions that create meaningful impact for patients across the country. His appointment reflects AstraZeneca’s continued commitment to science-led innovation and patient-focused excellence.

Sherif has been with AstraZeneca since 2025, most recently serving as Oncology Business Unit Director, where he drove strategic growth and strengthened the oncology portfolio in Egypt. His earlier career also includes experience with AstraZeneca as a Medical Representative in Kuwait and Egypt, providing him with a well-rounded understanding of the organization from field to executive leadership.

Prior to rejoining AstraZeneca, Sherif held several senior leadership roles at Novartis Egypt and Novartis Oncology, where he led Business Excellence and Execution, as well as regional franchise leadership roles across the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMACO) region. He also managed the Ophthalmology and Retina franchises across the Gulf cluster, overseeing complex portfolio integrations, regional expansions, and strategic product launches, including innovative cell and gene therapies.

With more than two decades of experience spanning general management, commercial excellence, and franchise leadership across the Middle East and Africa, Sherif brings a proven track record of driving transformation, innovation, and sustainable growth. His broader governance exposure includes membership in the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council.

As Country President, Sherif will focus on accelerating access to life-changing medicines, fostering collaboration across stakeholders, and ensuring AstraZeneca Egypt continues to contribute meaningfully to healthcare advancement in the country.
