Pune, India, May 2024 – Shyamala Shukla has recently joined Suzlon Group as the Senior Vice President & Head of HR – India Business. In her new role, Shyamala will oversee HR operations across India, focusing on driving strategic HR initiatives and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation within the organization.
Shyamala’s most recent role was at CK Birla Group, where she served as Group Vice President Human Resources for nearly two years. She played a key role in transforming the HR function across the group’s diverse businesses, enhancing employee engagement, and implementing strategic HR initiatives.
Before CK Birla Group, Shyamala worked at Medtronic in various capacities for almost a decade. As the Director of Talent Acquisition, Asia Pacific Region, she was responsible for leading the talent acquisition function across 15 countries and developing strategies for workforce planning and recruitment. Prior to this, she served as the Director – Human Resources for the Covidien India Engineering Centre, where she was instrumental in setting up the India R&D organization and driving HR programs aligned with business objectives.
Shyamala also held the position of Head – Human Resources, Stryker India at Stryker, where she spearheaded the HR function and developed people strategies to support business growth. Her efforts were crucial in enhancing HR operations and aligning HR practices with corporate goals.
Prior to her tenure at Stryker, Shyamala spent several years at Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd as Senior Manager- HR, Perfetti Van Melle as Manager- HR, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd as Manager- HR, and Bharti Enterprises as Asst Manager- HR, where she gained extensive experience in HR management, employee engagement, and talent development.
