New York City, New York, United States, April 2025 – Julia S. has taken on the role of Head of Talent at The Dermot Company, LP, a vertically integrated real estate investment and property management firm renowned for shaping memorable living experiences. In her new capacity, Julia will lead the company’s talent strategy and acquisition initiatives, supporting its growth agenda across rental communities and property operations.
Before joining Dermot, Julia most recently served at Breaking Ground, where she was Senior Director, Employee and Labor Relations, and later worked as a Senior Human Resources Consultant. In this capacity, she handled complex HR and labor relations matters, significantly enhancing workplace relations and compliance across the nonprofit’s expansive housing programs.

Prior to Breaking Ground, Julia was the Director of Recruitment and Onboarding at Met Council, where she led the development of targeted talent acquisition strategies, enhancing efficiency and retention. Her earlier career at the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) spanned over seven years, where she held roles including Administrative Manager and Administrative Team Lead, managing large-scale public housing HR operations and supporting organizational restructuring efforts.
Julia began her career with the New York State Assembly, where she served as a Political Campaign Coordinator and a CUNY Scholar/Intern, gaining foundational experience in public service and legislative operations. She is currently pursuing her MBA in General Management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, further strengthening her strategic leadership capabilities.
