Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, November 2024 – Somnath Baishya has taken on the role of Site Head for Tesco Bengaluru and has also joined the Board of Tesco Bengaluru Private Limited, in addition to his responsibilities as Director, People for Tesco Business Solutions (TBS) and Tesco India. In his expanded capacity, Somnath will lead the strategic operations of Tesco Bengaluru while leveraging his expertise and leadership as a board member to drive the site’s ongoing success and growth.
Since joining Tesco in April 2021 as Chief People Officer for Global Business Solutions and Tesco India, Somnath has been pivotal in enhancing employee experiences through innovative and personalized approaches to the Employee Value Proposition. His leadership has enabled the organization to align its people strategies with Tesco’s global objectives, contributing significantly to the company’s operational excellence.
Somnath brings extensive leadership experience from his prior roles at globally renowned organizations. Before joining Tesco, he served as Director and Head of People & Places at Intuit, overseeing global development centers, and as Director and Head HR for Adobe India, leading people strategies to foster organizational growth. His career includes influential roles at Nokia, where he led HR strategies for emerging markets, and at Infosys, where he drove key initiatives in talent acquisition and organizational development.
