Plano, Texas, United States, September 2024 – Steve Maloney has been appointed as the new Head of Human Resources at Fieldwire by Hilti. In his new role, Maloney will spearhead HR strategies and initiatives, focusing on enhancing employee engagement and organizational growth. His transition from Hilti North America marks a new chapter in his career, where he will continue his commitment to improving the construction industry.

Prior to joining Fieldwire by Hilti, Steve Maloney accumulated over a decade of experience at Hilti North America, where he held various roles. Most recently, he served as the Director of Human Resources (Software & Digital + Fieldwire), a position he held for approximately 1 year and 5 months. In this role, Maloney was responsible for managing HR functions across multiple sectors including software and digital solutions.

Before that, Maloney worked as the Director of Human Resources (Sales Organization) for about 2 years and 3 months, where he effectively communicated and upheld HR policies for a large sales team, focusing on inclusivity and performance improvement. His earlier experience includes serving as the Regional Sales Manager for 3 years and 3 months, overseeing a multi-million dollar sales forecast and building strong client relationships.

Maloney’s career began as an Account Manager and Technical Marketing Program Manager at Hilti, where he excelled in customer engagement and technical communications, with roles spanning approximately 1 year and 11 months and 1 year, respectively. His initial roles included positions as an Engineering Co-Op and Intern, providing him with a solid foundation in engineering and project management.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
