New York, USA – October 2024 – Stijn Nauwelaerts has been appointed as the Chief People Officer at NTT DATA, Inc. In his new role, Stijn will lead the company’s global human resources function, focusing on talent management, culture development, and strategic people initiatives across diverse markets.
Stijn joins NTT DATA after a distinguished 19-year career at Microsoft, where he most recently served as Corporate Vice President, Human Resources. He led HR for Microsoft’s global operations, managing talent development and cultural transformation across subsidiaries worldwide. Earlier, Stijn was the General Manager HR for Global Sales, Marketing & Operations at Microsoft, driving the people strategy across the company’s sales and marketing teams.
Prior to these roles, Stijn was the General Manager Human Resources for Microsoft International, overseeing HR operations across 110 subsidiaries outside the US and Canada. His focus was on talent acquisition, leadership development, and implementing key HR initiatives in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Stijn also held regional roles, including HR Director for Central & Eastern Europe, where he played a pivotal role in professionalizing HR practices in rapidly growing markets like Russia, Ukraine, and Poland.
Earlier in his career, Stijn worked as Vice President of Human Resources at The Bank of New York in Brussels and Luxembourg, where he led HR teams during significant expansions. He started his HR career as a Legal Counsel at Partena Professional, advising employers on labor law and managing trade union relations.
