Boston, Massachusetts, United States – October 2024 – Sudheer Kommanavancha has been named the new Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Kessel Run, a prominent Air Force software unit. In this role, Sudheer will oversee strategic IT initiatives and lead the development of secure, mission-critical software solutions, supporting Kessel Run’s mission of delivering operationally effective command and control software.
Sudheer brings a wealth of IT leadership experience from his tenure at Wellington Management, where he held multiple senior roles over a span of nearly two decades. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Information Security, where he was responsible for establishing policies, procedures, and strategies to manage user identities and access rights across the organization’s systems. His expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), data security, and compliance was critical in maintaining a secure IT environment.
Prior to this role, Sudheer was the Vice President of Investor & Portfolio Technology at Wellington Management. During this phase, he managed both AWS and on-premise IT infrastructure, defining and implementing solutions for database platforms, middleware, and enterprise reporting systems. His efforts in building AWS cloud migration strategies and improving IT infrastructure management significantly enhanced the company’s digital transformation.
Sudheer also held the position of Vice President of Enterprise Technology Services at Wellington Management, where he led teams in developing platform solutions for databases, application servers, content management tools, and collaboration platforms. His strategic leadership in IT infrastructure and capacity planning was pivotal in supporting the company’s expanding digital operations.
Sudheer’s early experience includes roles such as Assistant Vice President of Application Engineering at Wellington Management, where he focused on application integration, content management, and WebSphere message brokering. He also worked as a Senior Systems Analyst at Jean Martin and Sr. Integration Engineer at Financial Oxygen, where he contributed to integration solutions and middleware technology support.
