Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, May 2025 — Sumit Jain has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Unacademy, marking a significant leadership transition for one of India’s leading edtech companies. Sumit, who joined Unacademy in 2020 following the acquisition of his startup Opentalk, has since taken on key leadership responsibilities within the organization. He has spearheaded high-impact verticals such as Unacademy Centres, Online Test Prep, and Graphy, playing a crucial role in operational scaling and revenue growth.

A seasoned entrepreneur and product leader, Sumit’s track record includes co-founding Graphy, a platform for cohort-based courses, and Opentalk, which was later acquired by Kuku FM. His entrepreneurial journey began with CommonFloor.com, a pioneering real estate platform acquired by Quikr, where he served as Co-Founder and CEO for nearly a decade.

In addition to his operational roles, Sumit is a prominent angel investor and advisor, having backed over two dozen startups across edtech, SaaS, healthtech, and creator economy segments. His investments span platforms such as Airmeet, Newton School, Slick, Rocketium, InVideo, and Eka.care, among others—underscoring his commitment to enabling disruptive innovation in the Indian startup ecosystem.

Sumit’s unique blend of startup agility, operational rigor, and product-centric thinking positions him well to guide Unacademy into its next chapter of growth, innovation, and learner-centric excellence.
