Hyderabad, Telangana, India, June 2026 — Sunil Varma has been promoted and taken on an expanded role as Director, Regional People Advisory (RPA) Cluster Lead at S&P Global, with responsibility for leading people advisory initiatives across the Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai clusters. The elevation reflects the organization’s confidence in his leadership capabilities and extensive experience in human resources, employee engagement, talent management, and business partnering.
In his new role, Sunil will oversee regional people strategy and advisory functions across multiple key locations, partnering closely with business leaders to strengthen workforce effectiveness, employee experience, talent development, organizational capability, and people-centric business outcomes. His expanded responsibilities position him at the forefront of driving strategic HR initiatives across some of S&P Global’s most important talent hubs.
Sunil joined S&P Global in 2024 as Director, People Partner, where he played a critical role in aligning people strategies with business objectives, supporting leadership teams, and enhancing organizational effectiveness. His promotion comes after successfully contributing to talent management, workforce planning, employee engagement, and leadership development initiatives within the organization.
Before joining S&P Global, Sunil spent more than thirteen years with Infosys, progressing through several HR leadership roles including Senior Unit HR Manager – BPHR, Unit HR Manager, Senior Lead – Business Partner HR, and Lead – Business Partner HR. During his tenure, he partnered with leadership teams across global markets, communications, media, technology, life sciences, and services businesses, managing large-scale HR programs, performance management processes, talent initiatives, employee relations, and workforce planning strategies. Earlier in his career, he worked with Tata Elxsi, where he managed employee relations, performance management, competency mapping, and organizational development initiatives, and also gained early professional experience with Google Online India Pvt. Ltd. and Genpact.
