Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2026 — Cipla has appointed Sushrut Kulkarni as Global Chief – Integrated Product Development (IPD). Bringing more than two decades of leadership experience in pharmaceutical research and development, formulation sciences, regulatory affairs, and global product development, Sushrut joins Cipla to lead its Integrated Product Development function and strengthen the company’s innovation and development capabilities across global markets.
Prior to joining Cipla, Sushrut Kulkarni served as Global Head of IPDO at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, where he led the organization’s integrated product development efforts. Before that, he spent more than four years at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., serving as Executive Vice President & Head – Global Pharmaceutical Development, where he oversaw Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Project Management. He also held the roles of Group Vice President – Formulation & CMC and Senior Vice President – US Generics, leading Generic and Specialty R&D initiatives and strengthening the company’s global pharmaceutical development capabilities.
Earlier in his career, Sushrut served as Senior Vice President and Head – Pharmaceutical Technology Center at Zydus Cadila and also held multiple leadership positions at the company over a seven-year period, progressing through roles including Vice President, Senior General Manager, General Manager, and Deputy General Manager. These roles enabled him to build deep expertise in pharmaceutical technology, formulation development, and global product lifecycle management.
Sushrut began his pharmaceutical R&D career as a Scientist I at Torrent Research Centre before spending five years as Team Leader at Sandoz India, laying the foundation for a distinguished career spanning pharmaceutical research, formulation sciences, chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC), regulatory affairs, and integrated product development. His extensive experience across leading global pharmaceutical organizations positions him well to lead Cipla’s Integrated Product Development function as the company continues to expand its global innovation pipeline.
