Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, February 2026 – Swayampriya Shah has been appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Wagh Bakri Tea Group (GTPPL), where she will lead the organization’s people strategy and HR transformation agenda at one of India’s most iconic tea brands.
In her new role at Wagh Bakri Tea Group, Swayampriya will oversee the Human Resources function, strengthening organizational capability, talent management, leadership development, culture building, and strategic workforce alignment as the Group continues its growth journey across national and global markets.
Prior to joining Wagh Bakri Tea Group, Swayampriya spent over seven years with Bira 91, where she progressed through multiple leadership roles including Director HR, Vice President HR and Administration, and most recently Senior Vice President HR and Administration. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in scaling the HR function in a high-growth consumer brand environment, aligning people strategy with rapid business expansion and operational growth.
Earlier, she served as Director Human Resources at Cohne & Wolfe Six Degrees PR, and before that as Director Human Resources and Talent, India at CMGRP India Pvt Ltd, where she led HR and Talent functions for Weber Shandwick in India. These roles strengthened her expertise in talent strategy, employer branding, leadership development, and HR operations within dynamic and client-driven environments.
She also held the position of DGM – HR at Beam Global Spirits & Wine, and previously served as HR Director at Text 100, building strong foundations in strategic HR leadership across corporate and consumer sectors.
Swayampriya holds an MBA in HR from FORE School of Management, New Delhi, and brings over two decades of diverse HR leadership experience across FMCG, beverages, communications, and consumer-focused organizations. Her appointment marks a significant leadership addition for Wagh Bakri as it continues to blend legacy with modern organizational excellence.
