Tamara A. Louw Joins Immatics as Vice President of Human Resources

Houston, TX, United States, July 2024 – Tamara A. Louw has started a new role as Vice President of Human Resources at Immatics. Tamara is passionate about fostering working relationships between US and European HR teams, promoting cross-cultural unity, and collaboration. She oversees multiple HR direct reports and serves as a trusted advisor for all US departments and people managers through the entire employee lifecycle. Her role includes designing and administering high-impact learning and development programs, such as compliance and leadership training, and directing HR projects to optimize people and organization.

Tamara A. Louw joins Immatics with a wealth of experience in human resources. She previously held the role of HR Director at Immatics from August 2021 to June 2022, where she gained recognition for successfully regaining intrateam trust and facilitating better people alignment companywide. She also revised HR SOX compliance processes and directed the acquisition and implementation of a new HRIS application.

Before Immatics, Tamara was the HR Director at Frazer, Ltd. from January 2020 to August 2021, where she restructured the HR department, reduced annual turnover, and introduced a cloud-based HRIS platform. Her efforts led to cost savings and increased employee motivation, earning the company a “Top Workplaces” award.

Tamara also served as HR Director at TL Transport, LLC from January 2017 to March 2019, where she started the company from scratch, successfully grew it to positive revenue, and sold it at a profit. She managed HR tasks, researched and deployed benefits plans, and maintained compliance with federal and state requirements.

At Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, from 2010 to 2016, Tamara built and led the HR team, trained employees, and ensured compliance with regulations. She acquired and implemented an ATS platform that improved candidate experience and designed a performance system tailored to the nonprofit workplace culture.

Tamara’s earlier experience includes roles at Zhang & Associates, YMCA International Services, JPMorgan Chase, and Bank of America from 2000 to 2010. At Zhang & Associates, she established the HR department, and at YMCA International Services, she served as Office Director (HR/Finance). She also held roles as a Senior Trust Administrator at JPMorgan Chase and Banker at Bank of America.
