Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States, June 2025 – Michael Baker International has named Tanya Currie as its new Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Currie has also joined the company’s executive leadership team, where she will play a key role in leading the firm’s organizational transformation and driving the HR function as Michael Baker International works toward its vision of becoming a full-service engineering, consulting, and advisory powerhouse.
Before joining Michael Baker International, Tanya Currie spent an impressive 24 years at AECOM, a global leader in infrastructure consulting. Over her tenure at AECOM, she advanced through a series of progressive HR leadership roles. Most recently, she served as VP, Human Resources, West Region, and Global Lead, HR Business Partners and Talent Acquisition, where she focused on talent acquisition, engagement, and retention for large, geographically diverse teams. Her expertise also extended to VP, Talent Acquisition, Americas and Sr. Director, Talent Acquisition, Americas, building high-performing teams and executing strategies that fueled organizational growth across North and South America.
Earlier in her career at AECOM, Currie served as Senior Manager, Human Resources for nearly two decades, shaping HR practices, leading people programs, and supporting business expansion in various geographies including Toronto and Whitby, Ontario. Her broad HR leadership provided stability and vision during times of significant transformation and change within the company.
Currie’s journey began at Deloitte as a Learning & Growth Assistant, where she built the foundation for her expertise in talent and organizational development—skills that would underpin her subsequent success as a senior HR leader in the engineering and consulting sectors.
