Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, November 2025 – Bharat Ecofuels, a pioneering clean energy company focused on redefining manufacturing and distribution of alternative fuel energy in India, has announced the appointment of Balamurugan Chinnasamy as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role, Balamurugan will oversee end-to-end operations across all business verticals, driving process efficiency, franchise expansion, compliance, and strategic growth aligned with the company’s vision for a greener, energy-independent India.
Before joining Bharat Ecofuels, Balamurugan Chinnasamy served as Director of Business Development at ABS Infra Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., where he led high-impact business development initiatives with Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and retail infrastructure partners across South India. He successfully managed government liaisoning for statutory approvals, secured annual rate contracts, and built third-party service partnerships that accelerated business growth in the infrastructure sector.
Earlier, he held multiple leadership roles at Jio-bp (Reliance BP Mobility Limited), where he served as General Manager – Network Development for nearly four years. During this period, he spearheaded retail network expansion, recruited and developed channel partners, and liaised with government authorities to ensure statutory compliance and licensing. His work played a crucial role in expanding Jio-bp’s state-level footprint and introducing e-commerce-based fuel services.
Before that, Balamurugan spent over three years at Reliance Industries Limited, where he progressed through senior roles, including State Business Development Manager – Karnataka and State Sales & Operations Manager – Karnataka. He was instrumental in driving state-level sales, operational excellence, and execution of Reliance’s “Fuel at Doorstep” initiative — ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction across the retail network.
Earlier in his career, he worked with Essar Oil Ltd. as Divisional Manager – Operations (Tamil Nadu), overseeing retail network operations, optimizing supply chain processes, and ensuring sales growth. His professional journey also includes leadership positions at Green Auto Gas (IPPL), ICICI Bank, and Reliance Petro Marketing Pvt. Ltd., where he managed diverse portfolios covering fuel retail, trade finance, and regional sales operations. He began his career at Elkayem Auto Ancillaries Pvt. Ltd. as a Senior Engineer – PPC, where he developed his foundational expertise in process optimization and production management.
Balamurugan Chinnasamy holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Alagappa University, equipping him with a strategic blend of business acumen, operational insight, and leadership skills that have defined his two-decade-long career in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
