New Delhi, Delhi, India, January 2026 – Tarun Garg has taken charge as the new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor Company India, effective today. He succeeds Unsoo Kim, who stepped down from his position as Managing Director effective December 31, 2025. In this role, Tarun will lead Hyundai Motor India’s strategic growth agenda, sales and service transformation, market expansion and long-term mobility vision across India.
Prior to assuming the MD & CEO role, Tarun Garg served as Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor India, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening sales, marketing and service excellence, driving customer-centric initiatives and leading large-scale operational transformation across the country.
Before becoming COO, he served as Director – Sales, Marketing & Service at Hyundai Motor India, leading nationwide sales operations, brand strategy, customer experience frameworks and after-sales transformation, significantly strengthening Hyundai’s market position in India.
Tarun brings over two decades of leadership at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, where he progressed through multiple senior leadership roles including Executive Director – Marketing, Executive Vice President – Nexa, National Sales Head, Commercial Business Head – West, National Sales Planning Head, Regional Manager – Central Region, Sales Planning Manager and Deputy Manager – Logistics, playing a foundational role in building Maruti Suzuki’s sales, dealer and premium retail ecosystems across India.
Tarun Garg holds an MBA in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
