Ahmedabad, India, June 2024 – Tarun Jain has been appointed as the Reserve Bank of India Chair in Finance & Economics at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA).
Tarun Jain has been a part of IIMA for over 5 years, starting his journey as an Associate Professor of Economics in June 2019. He has also served as the Chair of the Economics Area from April 2022 to March 2024 and the Chair of the Centre for Management of Health Services from August 2021 to March 2024. Additionally, Tarun has been a Secondary Member of the Ravi J. Matthai Centre for Educational Innovation since June 2023.
His contributions to the field extend beyond IIMA. He has been an Associate Editor at Economic Modelling since April 2022 and a Member of the Digital Committee at the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare (NABH) since May 2023. Tarun was also a Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from October 2022 to May 2023 and served as a Visiting Scientist at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), New Delhi in March 2023.
Prior to his tenure at IIMA, Tarun Jain was an Assistant Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the Indian School of Business from 2009 to 2019. His early career includes roles as an Instructor at the University of Virginia from 2006 to 2009, an Associate at Charles River Associates from 2001 to 2003, and an Analyst at Oliver Wyman from 2000 to 2001. He also worked as an Associate at Braun Consulting from 1999 to 2000.
