Gurugram, Haryana, India, April 2026 – Umesh Rathi has been promoted to Vice President Finance & Global Controller at Edmund Optics, marking a significant milestone in his global finance leadership journey.
In his new role, Umesh Rathi will oversee global controllership, financial governance, and strategic finance operations, strengthening Edmund Optics’ financial capabilities across its international footprint.
Prior to this promotion, Umesh Rathi served as Interim Global Chief Financial Officer at Edmund Optics, where he played a critical role in steering global finance operations and ensuring business continuity at a strategic level. Before that, he was Global Finance Director, contributing to financial planning, reporting, and transformation initiatives across the organization.
Earlier, he served as CFO India at Atotech Group, where he led end-to-end finance operations including accounting, taxation, treasury, compliance, and business partnering. His role involved managing financial reporting under IND AS and IFRS, overseeing internal controls, and supporting global operations across multiple business functions.
He also held the position of Director, Head of Finance and India Shared Service Center at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, where he led a large finance team supporting global operations across 40+ legal entities, managing controllership, treasury, tax compliance, and global accounting processes.
Prior to that, Umesh Rathi spent over a decade with Agilent Technologies as Senior Finance Manager, leading global accounting and reporting teams, managing financial close processes, treasury accounting, SOX compliance, and M&A initiatives.
He began his career with Deloitte in Audit & Assurance, followed by roles at KGS Advisors LLP, building a strong foundation in auditing, financial reporting, and compliance across diverse industries.
