San Antonio, Texas, United States, March 2026 — University Health has appointed Michelle Garcia as Vice President, Human Resources, marking a significant leadership step as the health system continues to strengthen its people strategy and workforce capabilities. In her new role, Garcia will help drive the organisation’s human resources agenda, supporting talent priorities, employee experience, and leadership development aligned with University Health’s mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centred care for the communities it serves.
Garcia’s appointment reflects a steady progression within University Health, where she has built a long-term career spanning more than two decades. Most recently, she served as Executive Director, Human Resources (August 2020 to March 2026), contributing to HR leadership and operational direction. Prior to that, she was Assistant Director, Human Resources (May 2015 to August 2020), based in the San Antonio area, further deepening her experience across the organisation’s HR functions.
With this elevation to Vice President, Garcia is expected to continue supporting workforce readiness and organisational effectiveness for a large and complex health system, working closely with leaders and teams across the enterprise.
