Chester, England, United Kingdom, July 2025 – Vicki Wilson has stepped into the role of Chief People Officer at Countess of Chester Hospital, bringing over two decades of progressive HR leadership within the NHS and healthcare sector. In her new role, she will lead strategic people initiatives, focusing on workforce transformation, culture change, and enhancing employee experience across the organization’s three healthcare sites.
Prior to this, Vicki Wilson served for over four years as Associate Director of Workforce at NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, where she led several cross-organizational HR initiatives. Her contributions encompassed HR transformation, stakeholder engagement, internal communication, and strategic workforce planning—playing a key role in advancing collaborative leadership across the NHS system.
Earlier, she spent over three years at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, holding dual roles as Head of Human Resources and briefly as Acting Director of People & Culture. She was instrumental in driving cultural change and digital HR transformation during her tenure.
Before that, Vicki served as Strategic HR Business Partner at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust for nearly four years, where she was deeply involved in people strategy, labor relations, and organizational development. Her work included key contributions to national health system reforms and workforce planning efforts.
Her earlier career includes impactful HR and project management roles at Capita People Solutions, Aintree University Hospital, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, and Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust. Vicki holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Liverpool John Moores University and is a CIPD-qualified professional.
