Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India, May 2024 – Vipin Sharma has been promoted to the position of Chief Talent Management at Tata Steel. With over 14 years of dedicated service at Tata Steel, Vipin has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic vision in various HR roles, contributing significantly to the company’s growth and success.
Vipin’s most recent role was as Head Talent Acquisition from June 2022 to May 2024. In this position, he was responsible for identifying and sourcing top talent, ensuring the company attracted and retained the best candidates to support its growth and strategic objectives.
Before that, he served as Head HR Strategy, Analytics & HR Innovation Labs from June 2018 to June 2022. Vipin engaged with HR and business leadership to set the vision for HR and drive strategic interventions. He was instrumental in setting up the HR Analytics function, deploying dashboards, and developing models to address HR challenges. Additionally, he led the HR Innovation Lab, focusing on culture, career, employee experience, and business value.
From May 2014 to May 2018, Vipin held the role of Sr. Manager HRM in the Jamshedpur Area. In this capacity, he managed various HR functions and supported business growth through effective HR strategies and initiatives.
Earlier, as Manager HR at Tata Growth Shop from February 2012 to May 2014, Vipin was responsible for the entire gamut of HR activities, including contract labor management, training and development, grievance handling, and stakeholder management. He played a key role in developing HR plans aligned with business strategies and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
In his initial role at Tata Steel, Vipin served as Manager HR in the Mining division based in Dhanbad from May 2010 to February 2012. He was responsible for all HR activities at the location, including recruitment, manpower planning, statutory compliance, training, and employee engagement.
