Brighton, Utah, United States – November 2024 – Wendy Rand has started her new role as Vice President, People | Solitude Mountain Resort at Alterra Mountain Company. In her position, Rand will oversee human resources initiatives, employee engagement, and people strategy for Solitude Mountain Resort, focusing on enhancing team dynamics and aligning HR practices with Alterra’s strategic goals. Excitingly, her appointment coincides with Solitude Mountain Resort’s early season opening, marking the start of a new chapter for both the resort and its visitors.
Prior to joining Alterra Mountain Company, Rand served as the Chief Human Resources Officer at InMoment for approximately 3 years in South Jordan, Utah. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in transforming InMoment from a regionally focused operation to a global entity with substantial revenue growth and workforce expansion. She led key initiatives in restructuring HR practices, expanding talent development, and integrating acquisitions to strengthen InMoment’s position in the market.
Earlier, Rand was the Senior Director of Human Resources at Vail Resorts’ Park City Mountain for about 5 years, where she contributed significantly to making it the largest ski resort in the United States. She led HR transformations, facilitated large-scale integrations, and promoted a high-performance culture that drove substantial growth in skier visits and employee engagement.
Before her role at Vail Resorts, Rand held the position of Vice President of Human Resources for USIS at TransUnion for nearly 2 years. There, she spearheaded a transformation in the business unit’s sales strategy, enabling growth across mature and emerging markets, and led the integration of a major acquisition to support TransUnion’s expansion in the digital marketing and identity management sectors.
Her earlier experiences include a tenure as Vice President of Human Resources for North America at Fonterra and as Vice President of Human Resources at Jones Lang LaSalle, where she established a Workforce Planning Center of Excellence to enhance talent planning.
