Zaandam, North Holland, Netherlands, April 2025 – Wilco Brandt has taken on the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Albert Heijn, Etos, and Gall & Gall, further expanding his impactful career in technology leadership within the Ahold Delhaize group. In his new role, Wilco leads a tech division of over 1,200 engineers, focusing on delivering scalable, secure, and innovative digital solutions that support the retail brands’ transformation into a tech-powered food ecosystem.
Wilco has played a pivotal role over the past six years at Albert Heijn, most recently serving as VP Customer Technology & Engineering Enablement, where he led the development of customer-facing platforms, including mobile apps, eCommerce systems, POS solutions, and retail media platforms. He also spearheaded enablement initiatives to enhance DevOps tooling, engineering platforms, and developer autonomy across the business.
Earlier, as VP of Customer Technology, he drove the end-to-end technology vision behind Albert Heijn’s digital experiences across web, mobile, and in-store. His leadership facilitated the evolution of AI-driven labs and customer-centric innovations in loyalty and marketing technology.
Wilco’s journey began at Ahold Delhaize, where he progressed through several technology and digital transformation leadership roles over more than 17 years, contributing to the development of eCommerce platforms, innovation labs, and strategic tech modernization efforts.
