Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2025 – Zeenat Hamirani has been appointed as the Chief Risk Officer at L&T Finance, bringing over 30 years of expertise in credit, policy, and risk management within the banking and financial services industry. In her new role, she will oversee risk governance, credit policy, and digital risk strategy to enhance L&T Finance’s robust risk management framework.
Before taking on the Chief Risk Officer role, Zeenat served as Head of Credit Policy (Retail, Rural & SME) at L&T Finance, where she led transformative initiatives such as Project Cyclops, significantly improving digital credit underwriting engines. Prior to L&T Finance, she had a distinguished 18-year tenure at ICICI Bank, where she held leadership roles including Head of Credit Policy & Underwriting and Zonal Risk Head-West for SME & Agri Business.
Her experience also includes roles at ICICI Home Finance Company Limited, IndusInd Bank, and DCB Ltd, where she managed credit risk, business banking, and SME portfolios while ensuring compliance and portfolio growth.
Zeenat holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Banking and Management from NMIMS, a Master of Commerce (M.Com.) from Mumbai University, and is a Certified Associate in Banking from the Indian Institute of Bankers. Additionally, she pursued a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Indira Gandhi National Open University, further enriching her risk assessment and leadership capabilities.
