Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, August 2024 – Vedanta Aluminum has appointed Fabio Martins as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Billets. In this pivotal role, Fabio will be leading the Aluminum Billets product group, taking full ownership of the business’s P&L. His focus will be on optimizing production efficiency, embracing automation, and driving strategic execution of commercial activities, all while ensuring safety and promoting environmental and sustainable values.
Fabio brings over 26 years of experience in the aluminum industry, having spent a significant portion of his career at Alcoa. Before joining Vedanta, he served as the Director of Operations at Alcoa, overseeing mining, refinery, and aluminum operations in Poços de Caldas, Brazil. In this role, he successfully led business turnarounds, negotiated with state regulators, and managed key environmental and safety projects.
Earlier in his career at Alcoa, Fabio held several leadership roles, including General Manager Operations and Refinery Manager, where he provided strategic direction and operational management, and Commercial Manager – Primary Metal & Aluminum Powder, where he managed sales operations and led commercial strategies.
Fabio’s extensive experience in managing operations, driving business strategies, and leading teams in the aluminum sector positions him as a key leader at Vedanta Aluminum as the company continues to expand its market presence and operational excellence in the global aluminum industry.
