San Diego, California, United States, August 2024 – Rafael Quezada has taken on the role of Director of Talent & Culture at Fairmont Grand Del Mar. In this position, Rafael will oversee all human resources functions and initiatives aimed at cultivating a positive and inclusive work environment, aligning the resort’s culture with its strategic goals, and ensuring that Fairmont Grand Del Mar remains a premier destination for both guests and employees.
Before joining Fairmont Grand Del Mar, Rafael served as Director, People and Training at Montage International for nearly four years. In this role, he was responsible for developing and executing training programs, enhancing employee engagement, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement at the Laguna Beach location.
Prior to his tenure at Montage International, Rafael spent approximately 11 years at Loews Hotels & Co in various leadership roles. He served as the Director of Human Resources at both Loews Chicago Hotel and Loews Santa Monica, where he played a key role in driving employee relations initiatives and leading HR functions across the properties.
Rafael’s career in hospitality also includes his role as Director of Human Resources at Auberge du Soleil, where he focused on creating a culture of excellence and innovation within the HR team. Additionally, Rafael has held HR leadership roles at Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, where he developed his expertise in labor relations and employee engagement.
