Manchester, United Kingdom – October 2024 – Sivakumar Chidambarathanu has been appointed as the Chief Information Officer, Mortgages at Nationwide Building Society. In this pivotal role, Sivakumar will lead the digital transformation of the mortgage division, enhance operational efficiency, and implement cutting-edge technology solutions to serve Nationwide’s growing member base.
Sivakumar has been with Nationwide Building Society for over a year, having joined as the Director of Engineering, CIO in mid-2023. During his tenure, he has driven key technology initiatives, managed engineering projects, and established frameworks that streamlined the bank’s digital infrastructure.
Previously, Sivakumar was the Head of Data Platforms at TSB Bank, where he worked for nearly three years. He led critical transitions, managed major data platforms, and drove transformation programs, including SAP Cloud migration and enhanced fraud detection mechanisms.
Prior to TSB, Sivakumar worked at Barclays for about nine years. As Director, he managed essential customer communication platforms and spearheaded digital initiatives that saved over £40 million. He also led AWS migrations and championed the bank’s paperless transformation programs.
Earlier in his career, Sivakumar held significant roles at Tech Mahindra and Infravio, where he developed expertise in project management and technology solutions, laying the foundation for his IT strategy and digital innovation leadership.
