London, United Kingdom– November 2024 – Louise F Christian-Barrett has recently joined GSMA as the new Head of People Development. In this role, Louise will focus on strengthening the organisation’s learning, engagement, and people development strategies. With an extensive background in talent management and development, she brings invaluable expertise that aligns with GSMA’s mission to foster connectivity and innovation within the mobile ecosystem.
Prior to joining GSMA, Louise served as the Head of Learning, Engagement, and Inclusion (Group) at The Rank Group plc, where she played a pivotal role in redeveloping learning and DEI strategies for 7,500 employees across the UK and international locations. Louise was instrumental in fostering a positive workplace culture through initiatives such as the “Work, Win, and Grow” Employee Value Proposition and engagement survey enhancements, which significantly boosted organisational collaboration.
Before her tenure at The Rank Group, Louise worked with Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies Europe as the Associate Director of Talent & Organisational Effectiveness. There, she led transformative executive leadership initiatives, developed comprehensive L&D strategies, and championed DEI initiatives across European affiliates. Her leadership contributed to a notable increase in employee engagement scores and the establishment of a talent succession framework.
In an earlier role, Louise served as an HR Business Partner at Otsuka on a secondment assignment, where she supported organisational restructuring efforts and spearheaded COVID-19 employee engagement initiatives. Her leadership during this period resulted in significant cost savings and enhanced organisational resilience.
Additionally, as a Learning and Development Consultant at M&G Prudential, Louise focused on enhancing management and leadership training. She delivered impactful learning sessions and strategic leadership initiatives that improved employee engagement and achieved high promotion rates for programme participants.
