Mumbai, Maharashtra, India – November 2024 – Sibaji Biswas has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), where he will lead the network’s financial strategy, planning, and corporate finance. Biswas joins SPNI with extensive experience in financial management, strategic planning, and corporate development, which he gained from holding prominent finance roles in various global organizations.
Before joining SPNI, Sibaji Biswas served as Executive Director and CFO at Syngene International Limited (Biocon group company) in Bengaluru. Over his five-year tenure, he played a pivotal role as a board member and leader of the finance, strategy, legal, and supply chain functions, significantly contributing to the company’s growth and strategic direction.
Prior to Syngene, Biswas was Finance Director & Board Member at Vodafone Romania. Based in Bucharest, he was responsible for the complete financial steering of Vodafone’s operations in Romania, where he ensured financial performance aligned with corporate objectives and local market dynamics. His experience with Vodafone spanned various roles, including Executive Vice President – Corporate Development & Head of Supply Chain and Vice President – Finance in Mumbai, where he managed M&A, finance strategy, and large-scale procurement for the India business.
Earlier in his career, Biswas held finance leadership roles at Hutchison Telecom India. As Associate VP – Hutchison India, he was instrumental in financial planning, consolidation, and IT implementations, overseeing major financial transformations and M&A processes during the Vodafone takeover and the formation of Indus Tower.
