Lisbon, Portugal, December 2024 – Lauro Andrade has been named Director of Human Resources for the pre-opening of ANdAZ Lisbon, a boutique-style hotel concept by Hyatt. In this pivotal role, Lauro will lead HR strategies and operations to establish the hotel’s culture, attract top talent, and align with the Andaz brand’s vision of delivering vibrant and personalized guest experiences.
Lauro joins ANdAZ Lisbon with over a decade of experience in luxury hospitality human resources. Prior to this role, he served as Director of Human Resources at W Algarve for nearly four years, where he led HR strategy, staffing, and development initiatives. Lauro also spearheaded social responsibility programs, compliance efforts, and innovative employee engagement activities that supported the brand’s objectives.
Before W Algarve, Lauro spent over seven years with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, where he progressed through various roles, including Human Resources Manager, Human Resources Supervisor, and Human Resources Coordinator at Penha Longa Resort in Sintra, Portugal. His contributions included implementing HR business plans aligned with Ritz-Carlton’s global strategies and fostering a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Lauro’s early career began as a Trainee with Olissippo Hotels, providing him with a foundation in hospitality operations and guest service excellence.
