Unisys Appoints Michael M. Thomson as Chief Executive Officer

Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, United States, December 2024 – Unisys (NYSE: UIS) has announced that Michael M. Thomson, currently the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Peter Altabef as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective April 1, 2025. Thomson will also join the company’s Board of Directors while retaining his title as President. Altabef will continue to serve as Chair of the Board after stepping down as CEO.

Peter Altabef, Unisys Chair and current CEO, expressed his confidence in Thomson’s leadership:

Thomson has been instrumental in driving Unisys’ strategic initiatives and delivering operational excellence. Since joining the company in 2015 as Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer, he has held various senior roles, including Chief Financial Officer and President/COO. He brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across diverse industries.

Nate Davis, Lead Independent Director of the Unisys Board, highlighted the seamless transition:
“Mike’s efforts to strengthen Unisys’ financial standing and operational capabilities position him to lead the company effectively. Peter’s bold vision and leadership during his tenure as CEO have revitalized Unisys, preparing it for continued success.”

Reflecting on his appointment, Thomson said:

Altabef, who has served as CEO since 2015, has played a pivotal role in transforming Unisys into a more innovative and client-focused organization during his tenure.
