Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, May 2025 – Bennett University has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Raj Singh as its new Vice Chancellor, marking a strategic move to usher in a new era of innovation, academic excellence, and transformative growth. A distinguished academic leader and veteran of the Indian Air Force, Dr. Singh brings with him a rich legacy of institution building, leadership in higher education, and the design of progressive and interdisciplinary learning systems.
Dr. Singh’s appointment comes on the heels of his successful five-year tenure as Vice Chancellor at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) in Bengaluru. During this period, he played a pivotal role in driving innovation, implementing the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and hosting major academic events including the Khelo India University Games 2022. His time at JAIN was defined by growth, visionary leadership, and a collaborative academic environment that earned accolades from students and peers alike.
Before JAIN University, Dr. Singh held significant academic leadership positions including Vice Chancellor roles at Shobhit University, Ansal University, Rayat Bahra University, and GD Goenka University. At GD Goenka, he served as the founding Vice Chancellor, establishing robust governance and academic systems. His contribution to Amity Education Group over a 14-year period also stands out—where he served in multiple capacities including Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Director, and was instrumental in shaping Amity’s academic reputation across multiple campuses.
Earlier in his career, he was the founding Head of IBS, New Delhi under the ICFAI Group, where he developed core academic frameworks that propelled the institution’s early success. His professional journey began with a 13-year tenure in the Indian Air Force, where he developed key traits such as discipline, precision, and fast decision-making that would later define his leadership style in academia.
