Pune, Maharashtra, India, May 2025 — Ashish G. has been appointed as Brand Director of Škoda India by Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL), effective May 1, 2025. This key appointment marks a strategic step in strengthening Škoda’s brand presence in India and enhancing customer engagement across the fast-evolving market.

Ashish brings more than two decades of automotive experience, with an impressive 12 years within the Volkswagen Group. Prior to his elevation, he led Volkswagen Passenger Cars India as Brand Director, where he was instrumental in steering strategic planning, sales, and marketing initiatives that reinforced the brand’s market positioning.

Before taking on senior roles at Volkswagen, Ashish spent nearly 14 years at Toyota, where he held pivotal positions including Deputy General Manager, overseeing dealer development and operations to enhance customer satisfaction across India. He also served at Toyota Motor Corporation Japan as Functional Specialist, managing new model design and quality concerns, and driving customer service planning across Asia Pacific.

At Škoda India, Ashish will focus on expanding the brand’s footprint, elevating customer experiences, and driving growth in line with SAVWIPL’s broader strategy of localizing leadership and leveraging market insights to build deeper brand resonance.

Welcoming his appointment, the leadership at Škoda Auto Volkswagen India highlighted Ashish’s deep industry expertise and customer-centric approach as critical assets in steering Škoda India towards its next phase of growth.

Ashish expressed his enthusiasm for the role and reiterated his commitment to enhancing Škoda’s value proposition for Indian consumers through innovative, market-relevant strategies.
