Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2025 – Surajit Deb has joined Kotak Mahindra Bank as President & Chief Technology Officer – Group Subsidiaries and Private Bank. In his new role, Surajit will drive the technology vision and digital transformation across Kotak’s subsidiary companies and private banking operations, playing a critical role in shaping the future of tech innovation and customer experience within the group.
Surajit brings over two decades of extensive experience in enterprise technology strategy and leadership in financial services. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer at HDFC Securities, where he led strategic technology and talent transformation efforts. His leadership was instrumental in scaling the core trading tech stack and launching digital investment platforms like HDFC Sky and InvestRight, enhancing operational resilience and customer experience.
Prior to this, Surajit was Head of Technology Management Group & Chief Architect at IDFC FIRST Bank, where he defined the tech architecture for a digitally scalable and agile bank. He led technology and digital transformation initiatives across the bank’s retail, wholesale, and transaction banking businesses, with a focus on cloud adoption, mobile banking, and platform modernization.
Earlier, he held the position of Chief Customer Technology Advisor at Salesforce, guiding leading financial institutions through their transformation journeys. He provided strategic counsel in developing CRM solutions for holistic customer lifecycle management. Before that, he served in leadership roles at IBM, NatWest Group, and Germin8, delivering enterprise-grade architecture and technology platforms for banking and analytics.
Surajit started his technology journey at Tata Consultancy Services, followed by stints at Aon Hewitt, Sapient, and Eastman Kodak, where he built diverse technology solutions for sectors spanning telecom, insurance, and healthcare.
